You Mean 'Afrikaanaut' ...

Of course the first "Afronaut" in space would be somebody white. And, of course, this story wouldn't be complete without current South African president Thabo Mbeki and former president Nelson Mandela cheering him on ... *hockspit*

Oh Wow, Hot Damn! Mozilla!

| | TrackBacks (0)

I just downloaded Mozilla 1.0 Release Candidate 1 and I'm blown away by how stable it is! I'm *sniffle* SO PROUD! *sob!* I knew they could do it! Hmmm, actually Netscape might have a hand in helping AOL pull its weight around AOL Time Warner, now that Gecko, the engine behind Mozilla 1.0 (and the soon-to-be-released next Netscape browser based on Mozilla 1.0) is being considered by AOL to replace Internet Explorer. Seems like AOL Time Warner is first test marketing this idea with Compuserve, its discount Internet access solution. Makes sense, especially with such great software. I think this is the one I'll be using for a while ... in fact, I'm soaking in it!

We're about to put her to bed. Keith's site is now a fully-functional world-class site for information about Black LGBT people, complete with info about him and his writings, news blogs that he updates daily, a search engine that allows you to search the entire site, a mailing list so you can get a piece of his site in your e-mail box every so often and much more. Oh, and let's not forget those photos! I've had a great time working on it.

Now, I need to get back to the world, like Tevin Campbell ... next up - The Blackstripe.

Three Mo' Tenors

| | TrackBacks (0)

I'm blogging quickly tonight so I can go talk to my cousin on the phone. I just wanted to share how fabulous Three Mo' Tenors CD is! I'm hardly what you would call patriotic, but what they do with "America The Beautiful" just sends chills up and down my spine. Makes me wonder if that America ever existed. And by the way, the DVD is on my Amazon Wish List! *HINT* *HINT!*

Work continues on Master Boykin's site ... we like it a lot!

Thunder Coming ...

| | TrackBacks (0)

I swear, I'm tryingto be patient, but it gets on my fucking NERVES when he acts like he's trying to figure out what's wrong! What's wrong? I'm struggling like this while I have somebody living with me who is GETTING what he needs and who is FORGETTING that he needs to be up OUT! I don't even know if holding back my words even helps anymore, but if I say anything then I'm the one who has to watch his face crack and his eyes dart from side to side. And I sure as hell don't want to discover another damn note with some sentiment scratched on it that he's too cowardly to actually verbalize. I'm really starting to get sick of this shit. It truly isn't helping my demeanor. I mean, goddamm, I can do bad all by myself ...

*deep breath* I should use my blog to vent more often! Well, I AM happy-so-lucky ... most of the time. Unless somebody's FUCKING with me. *smile!*

Well, at least there's a thunderstorm coming to cool things down. Maybe that will give us a little more water in our reservoirs. Remind me to buy more bottled water before they start tapping the Hudson ... yeesh ...

Gettin' Up Again

| | TrackBacks (0)

Got up again this morning and went out for my walk/run. I have graduated to a cute little jog for about 15-20% of my course! I'm not trying to fuck up my knees, so I'm taking my time. My heart fluttered a bit yesterday, which I thought was odd and scared me a bit, but that didn't happen today. It is hot as hell, too - probably going up to 90° today ...

I have to be honest with something close and dear to my heart. GMAD is REALLY beginning to disappoint me on so many levels, and it's not just about their website either (although it has seen better days). I need to come to terms with that and continue to support my community in other ways.

Damn, It's Hot!

I guess that means that the clothes will be coming off sooner than anticipated! Time to get it together!

Today, I Did Better.

I got out there and had a good walk today ... and ran into My Councilman, The Honorable Bill Perkins! (Phil Reed is My Other Councilman. Can't forget THAT brother!) He was wearing these little skimpy shorts ... and running! Well, I say goddamm! That's a FINE hunk o' man! Legs for your NERVES and all sweaty, too! Utterly delicious! Well, that and this other Latin guy (who was a VISION in white) is all the incentive I need to keep going back!

My newest project has begun and it's going really well! I'm excited - I might even get to learn something (like Miva) by doing this one. And I'm talking to another writer friend who's just itchin' for his own website! I think I've created a niche! *LOL!*

Three Whole Days

| | TrackBacks (0)

Okay, it's been three whole days since I last walked. 3! There, I said it. Tomorrow morning, I'm going to get my ass up and walk. Shit ...

This afternoon, I pumped up the jam with Cheryl Lynn's "Shake It Up Tonight" and it helped to shake some of these doldrums up out of here. I figure that the best way to honor the life of brother James Knight is to live the life of Donald Andrew Agarrat to the absolute fullest. I mean, for real ...

Sustaining Communications

| | TrackBacks (0)

Thanks to my last project, my phone will remain operational for at least another month. Yay. I'm getting tired of this, though, this living from day to day without the resources I need to do simple, basic things like laundry. Something needs to come through, like, this week — May is coming and rent is due. I'm trying fight this onslaught of depression. I'm trying to stay busy doing these recent projects; I'm trying to let these achievements keep me buoyed above the murky waters of this extended period of un/underemployment, but the waves are making the bell is ring - all of it is getting to me …

Pump Her Up

Today, I beefed up my little blog by adding Atomz' powerful search engine and a little bit of well-placed Javascript. It works really well, so I'm going to beef up his website with it as well.

Brother James Is Gone.

| | TrackBacks (0)

Today, my landlady and the super found my upstairs neighbor dead. Apparently, he's been dead for about a week. I had never smelled death before and it was overwhelming. James was a 26 year old Black gay man. I'm now burning some of my sweetest incense just for him. Axé, meu irmão, axé …

What A Pleasure It Has Been!

| | TrackBacks (0)

What a pleasure it has been to work on this man's site! Now, if I only had the coins to celebrate — any new coins go to purchasing a new mouse. It is truly NOT cute when you're working on a paying gig and your mouse gives out! Something tells me that I'll be hearing the jingle jangle of many coins very soon ...

I finished reading James Earl Hardy's new book last night - a quick and juicy read that took about a day! It really is amazing what stories we can tell about our lives if we just listen to the world that surrounds us every day. It's even inspiring ...

Trying To Hold On

I'm trying not to be despondent. I'm working on a couple of projects that I'm really enjoying. I know something will work out. Soon ...

Could It Be? It IS!

Disney REALLY wouldn't be making a sequel to a movie that had lackluster ticket sales - 20 years ago! Right? Think again.
