Back To Life

Yesterday was a cool day. I finally got to pay some bills, so I erased the anxiety of expecting stuff to shut down at any moment. That feels nice! I'm proud of myself! I didn't go crazy, but I did have breakfast at a favorite spot up here, got a new tote and did a little CD shopping. Well, I almost bought a digital camera, enticed by the last tax-free day, but I held out and decided to wait.

In my travels, I ran into brand-new Dominican fashion plate Omahyra (say "oh-MY-rah") and she just won herself a new fan! Funny, I just got the September issue of Vibe and recognized her from some Internet searching about fashion a couple of weeks ago. I try to leave celebrities alone so they can live normal lives when they're not working, but we were stuck at the same Don't Walk sign, so I said "Hi!" She was so nice ... she made her while male associate find a pen so she could autograph my magazine. I think she might be 18 now. I wished her good luck, gave her a big hug and went on my way.

Later on, I hung out with Lynne at her new digs. As Eric would say, "I luh huh." Besides that, she's definitely one to watch out for. We hadn't hung out since last year at Summerstage, but I won't let another year go by like that again. Can't wait to throw some stuff at her from my 1200s!

Okay, in spite of this little oasis of euphoria (brought to you courtesy of Sustenance™), my reparations-related anger is still intact. See? *grrrrrrr!* Maybe I'll read those blogs again to remind me just how angry I am. (*sneaks a peek* Yup, that did it!) Yeah, I'll do that - after I maintain my business and lifestyle by getting some more work out.

Y'all, please pray for Kola Boof and our mutual friend Alicia Banks. Their very lives are in danger - here's why.

Donald, I ran across your ponderings from conducting a Google search on Gladys Bentley. I’ve been trying to track down as much (scarce) info on her as is possible — and, if you’re in the midst of doing the same — you know how tough that can be. You mention meeting up with Michael Henry Adams recently and “our future project, Gladys Bentley.” What are you planning? Please drop an email to this poor sap in Jersey City. Regards, David Henderson

When are you arriving in Atlanta, Donald? looking for hiding place for Canon S-40

grin!!!
