Yesterday, Oprah had a show about Small Space Makeovers. (Isn't she looking good? Work Oprah!) It wasn't a realistic show (interior designers with seemingly unlimited budgets), but truly inspired me and helped me to create the vision of what I'm going to do with my apartment - to make the most use out of this little space. But I've made a decision - I'm not going to do anything major (no installations, sofas or plasma TVs) until I get my teeth fixed. Hello!
I really feel good today. I was walking down 5th Avenue on my way to Barnes & Noble and I knew I was looking good! I haven't feel that way in a while ...
I found Web Database Applications with PHP and MySQL at the third Barnes and Noble that I visited. Since I'm moving my clients to Dreamhost, PHP/MySQL is one of the cornerstones of my web training this fall (Flash is the other). This book will be a good start and will help me to show off on The Blackstripe and Alicia Bank's new website. I've also joined the New York PHP Users Group. Tonight is my first meeting.
On my way back home, I thought about going to the gym, but I'm taking a break today. I've been doing my cardio for 30 minutes every day and I don't want to burn out too quickly. Besides, my back feels a little tight; I need to stretch more, maybe even a massage. *grin!* Per instruction from trainer extraordinaire Tony, I did start doing my push-ups today (if that's what you can call them). I can't do a lot (really, like 10), so I'm concentrating on doing them right. I have to prepare for Tony to work me out; he is not playing. And I've made an executive decision about my diet - I've cut out meat, most fats and a lot of sugar. I'm also making a conscious effort to eat more fruits and vegetables. Since I know I won't eat as much as I need, I'm using Earthrise's Spirulina Greens Blend (with wheat grass, chlorella, barley grass, alfalfa and broccoli). At least I'll get SOMETHING green every day.
