Springtime is such a lovely time for sprucing up things and feeling refreshed, isn't it?
Four months was a little exhaustive for a hiatus, but it's all good. I wish I could say that I was more productive, though. I really talked a lot of shit last December; I have realized extremely little of it. I'm not going to beat myself up about it, though, but I think I'm learning not to talk as much as I do. Actions really do have a way of speaking louder.
So what's changing here? Well, tonight I attended a benefit for Fire & Ink, hearing us pay homage to forefathers like Assotto Saint, Essex Hemphill, Marlon Riggs and B. Michael Hunter has me feeling the writer in me. So now I'll feature the entire text of my posts on this page. No more pretentious excerpting! *LOL!* Oh yeah, and I'm leaving my iTunes stuff off, too. If I hear something that warrants a discussion, I'll just post about it. (Like how I am loving Miss Ledisi!) Besides that? Not much ... just a little more brightness. Also, this page conforms to the World Wide Web Consortium's standards for compliance. That basically means that this page, despite how fashionable and technologically advanced it is, should work for lots of people regardless of their choice of platform or browser. This update will happen very gradually, so stuff that doesn't work right now will probably work in the near future.
There's a lot to talk about, too. I was chatting with Lynne about hip-hop last week. Stay tuned for that! And recently I took Keith's site through yet another transformation, so I've been hanging out there a lot. I've been participating a lot on his message board. Stop by and add your stuff to the pot, too - especially if you are Black and gay (or lesbian or bisexual or transgendered or questioning) and intelligent and conscious! We need to be in conversations with each other now more than ever.
