... And I'm Out The Door!

Push!

I rejoined the gym almost two weeks ago and hadn't been once - until this morning. I got up around 6am, gathered my toiletries, packed a fresh T-shirt and socks and pushed out into the rainy day to get this started ... again. I can't dwell too much on the time I've wasted that has passed because it will only depress me and make me as grey as the day is. We can't have that.

At the gym, weapons armed, into battle ...

So I get there and everything is as it was, except for a bunch of new trainers. Naeem worked here as a trainer before he got sick. I asked one of the few trainers I recognized if he knew Naeem has passed away; he knew. I proceeded to the locker room and, lo and behold, my favorite locker is available! Well, it is kinda early ... I get on a LifeStep, plug in, and pump to Billie Ray Martin and Kraftwerk for 30 minutes. I didn't think I would make it past 15, but the music kept me going.

I felt thicker when I wrapped the towel around me, like I had gained 20 pounds. I've been eating lots of crap lately, so that wouldn't surprise me. After I showered, I took in some steam (the sauna wasn't hot yet). Then, the moment of truth - I weighed myself. The scale said 172 lbs, a 7 pound difference since I last visited the gym in February January. Not too bad!

And I'm back now.

Congratulations!

I’m into my 4th month of going there 3 times a week. But I am not a morning person, so I’m Tuesday and Thursday nights after work, and Saturday morning, whenever I roll out of bed, 8:30-9-ish.

I stopped weighing myself and took Maurice Franklin’s advice. “Let the mirror be your guide.”

this “back to the gym” thing is a common theme, of late. i just started back last week…after slacking off since, uhhh, whispering december….

I started back too. Joined in May, went with the trainer once and then took off four two months. But I’m in there solid now. Good for you boyeeee! Love what’s in that locker. I hear Kraftwerk has a new album.

Here is Kraftwerk’s new album. It’s an extension of their Tour de France track back in the day. Check it out!

Damn, am I the only one not getting my ass in the gym? Can’t even remembe the last time I was in one. I’m talking years.

Hope you stick to the routine. I’m gonna have to get serious about my health soon.
