There Is No Down Low

Lately, I've been getting comments from people who apparently want to share their opinions of my blog's content with me and the other people who visit this space. I really love to see conversations happen, but there is no space here for anyone who must render themselves anonymous and unreachable. I refuse to harbor that type of insidious cowardice here. If you have a critique about me or my blog and you wish to remain anonymous, you'll have to go somewhere else to litter.

If I allow the down low to exist in my own space, then I'm complicit. I'm not going to let that happen.

There are two types of people in this group: complete strangers and people that I may know or who may know me. To the first group: there is a sign at the door. If you leave a comment here with a false e-mail address, expect that comment to be deleted along with the spam. You don't know me, but now at least you know what's up in here. So much for first impressions, though ...

And to the second group: if you know anything about me, you know that I'm extremely allergic to anything on the down low. This space is no different. I hope the day comes when you can come to my blog, identify yourself (you know at the very least I'll be cordial unless I REALLY don't like you) and join in the conversation. Until then, get your weight up and come again when you're ready to come correct. Come on, now ... you KNOW me!

And to all y'all: you ever thought about starting up your own blog? Go and set up a free account with 1&1 before the 3 Years Free pre-launch promotion ends on 1/14. Then you can have your space and do whatever the hell you like when knuckleheads come to your site to anonymously share their opinion of you, leaving you with no way to respond to whatever it is they decide to shit on your floor.

Ahh! I forgot all about the 1&1 deal - I need to jump on that quickly. And about the anonymous commenters, I find blocking their IP address and adding them to my MT-Blacklist snuffs them out pretty fast. Just ask “blk bro” and “bhuggyb”. Yeah, I’m naming names! LOL

No he didn’t put blk bro out there like that!

Hey, the down low is what it is. Sometimes it’s like that, y’know? Represent the way you do. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that.

Oh, and Bloglines has You Said… showing up on it. Glad you updated that one. Nice little rememberance piece. Will it be updated soon?

donald, i may not always agree with your thoughts/words….but i have a tremendous amount of respect for you and how you hold it down. you are definitive and matter of fact. the one thing i can say about donald aggarat is that you know where he stands, and if you don’t, just ask and he will make it clear. a lot of people shy away from that kind of confidence and conviction. i applaud you for it.

ooh and by the way, can you make me a buddy icon?

applause

I have been out of the loop the past week or so and now understand (I think) the reason for this post. I agree with you 100% and may even finally post something in response.

I love it! …And I love you for having the courage to spray “Raid!” on the low-down-low “roaches” who attempt to feed off your blog in the dark and scatter before you have a chance to turn the light on.

Yet, personally, I am not as affected by this form of cowardice as you seem to be. Ignorance is rampant. Let the dead be dead. You do not have to bury them; they’ll disintegrate into the soil, soon enough.

I missed the 1 & 1 launch.

Grrrr.

Hey D I have been out of the loop for a while and I just wanted to say that it is good to see that you are still kicking and rea\maining a force. I miss our coffee chats. I think that connection and communication are probably the most important thing in todays world so I will be showing up alot this year. Love ya Gordon
