I can tell you this: blog entries from now on will be few and far in between until I launch the redesign (and rebranding) of this site. Whenever THAT is. I've just been SOOOOO busy. I'm just hoping all this locomotion will end up taking me some place closer to where I want to be.
Okay, how about I start with the day I got my laptop back? I skipped back up into Tekserve last Wednesday, so happy that they finally called to tell me that my Tarwa is okay and that I could pick her up at any moment, got my ticket at the door, got another yellow one once I realized that the first green one was for new repairs and not pickups, and stood there telling any nosy passers-by about rentparty.org and its music. Then I looked over to the left ...
I really thought that I'd meet more celebrities that I admire when I moved back to New York 11 years ago. Maybe I would if I left the house more often but still every time I do get to meet an artist whose work I'm really into *cough!* I get all flustered! Especially if there's some of my one-way sexual attraction going on; I feel like a goddamn Immature/IMX fan or something.
And so it was when I looked into Jeffrey Wright's face, standing right there next to me! Click on that link and you'll see pretty much what I saw - that same three-quarter turn profile, him looking a bit like Peoples Hernandez except with kinkier hair, that same look (those eyes *shudder!!!*) that says "I'm longing, but I'm checking you out first ..." I WAS GASPAGATING!!! I said something like "I think I know who you are ..." while realizing how oafish that must have sounded, but I figured "Oh, he's used to this. He'll make it easy for me." And he did. He's great! Go read his 2002 interview of Mos Def on George's blog and check out my comment. *swoon!!!*
Speaking of blogs and swooning, it's George! He's back with lovingly rendered future-proofed links courtesy of yours truly (with a little help from super MT man Brad Choate and these blog entries) ... and I'm not done with him yet. He's but one of a galaxy of heavenly celestial bodies that I'm currently moving to Movable Type 3. And I can't forget my Creole sister Darrell. You won't either after you read his poignant account of a love affair's ... well, I'll let him tell his story. You'll never think of terror quite the same way.
I spent the past weekend helping Steven move his beloved Larry from Jersey City to Princeton. And, honey, I am whoa out! Not worn out - WHOA OUT! Shit, I feel like I need to soak for a week! I feel like I was just unplugged from the Matrix!
