Both John and Jason rip it and lovingly claim Mr. Vandross' legacy as our own. Just like Langston Hughes', his reflects the majesty of our artistry along with our shit. And there's a reason why half of James' B-Boy Blues series is titled with one of Vandross' classic tracks ...

Anyhow, there will be a public viewing held for friends, family, fans and associates tonight on Wednesday, July 6th and tomorrow, Thursday, July 7th between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel at 1076 Madison Avenue at 81st Street. Also, funeral services will be held at The Riverside Church (490 Riverside Drive) on Friday at 12 noon. Of course, the burial will be private.

And you can bet on consummate vocalist supreme Lisa Fischer being here. She just sung background for Madonna for Live 8 in London (fast-forward to the middle to see her take you there during her featured vocal break of "Like A Prayer"), but I know she'll be here.
